3 Things I Spotted This Week – #6

Since my job is an online store and mentoring ecommerce business owners, I spend a LOT of time online each day. While most of that time is spent working, I do occasionally stumble across websites, articles, and cool things that I really like. I save these things to a Pinterest board, so someday when I have some free time, I can go back to that board and enjoy the things I found.

Here are three random things (in no particular order) that I am really loving this week. Maybe you’ll find them interesting, too!

#1 – Vertical Planter

Check out this cool, sleek vertical planter! We have an area on our property near our shed where we store pots, my potting bench, extra patio chairs for when we have our Outdoor Movie Nights, and other miscellaneous things that don’t go into the shed. The area is neatly organized, but I don’t like seeing these “things” just sitting out – I’d like to hide them somehow. I’ve been thinking of a way to create a “living fence” in that area. Something that looks great in the yard, but hides the outdoor storage stuff. I think having three of these vertical planters in that area, sitting right next to each other (or one long vertical planter) would solve that problem! This photo shows a vine plant of some kind – I would plant Moonflowers in one (white flowers that open at night), a white Clematis in another, and maybe a yellow Honeysuckle in the one in the middle. My brother is a master at building projects – I bet I could get him to make these for me. What do you think?

#2 – Vintage Spaghetti String Glasses

I have been trying to find a set of vintage spaghetti string glasses for awhile now. My Grandma had glasses like these and I always thought they were so cool. I think they would be SO much fun for Summer entertaining! I was excited to find this set – but it already sold. 🙁 So I’m still on the look-out. I’d really love to find an entire set like this in either the lime green shown here, or the white. But I think the mixed colors are fun, too. I’ll keep searching….

#3 – Garden Bird

Oh my gosh! Look what I found! This is a 13″ tall x 13″ long bird statue that looks like it was made of stone! I am SO excited about this! We have a Bird Garden in our yard. It’s a crescent shaped garden that has a natural boulder wall on the front side with natural stone steps leading into the garden. We have a flagstone path that leads you in a circle in the garden and the circle is filled with Elmer, my Weeping Norway Spruce and my favorite Hostas. There are three bird feeders in the garden that match the buildings on our property, as well as two bird baths on either end of the crescent. I love all the stone in this garden and when I accidentally stumbled on this large bird statue, I knew it was the perfect fit for that garden! This bird is going to sit in the upper part of the garden, nestled in the decorative rock landscaping. It’s big enough that we will see it from the house. I just love the flagstone look to this bird’s belly – it’s really perfect! AND…. when I found this statue, it was 50% off! See?!?! It was meant to be!
