The countdown to Christmas is so much fun for children! Kids of all ages (even us “big kids”) grow more and more excited as Christmas draws near.
To help you find ways to keep your kids (or grandchildren) in the spirit, here are 12 Days of Christmas in Picture Puzzles that you can use.
These picture puzzles are challenging, yet fun. The list starts small, but then the lists get more challenging as you work your way through the days.
What You Will Need:
- Christmas Day 1 and 2 Picture Puzzle
- Christmas Day 3 and 4 Picture Puzzle

What You Do:
- Print each puzzle from the links above (or use the images below).
- Encourage your kids or grandchildren to find the items listed on the picture puzzle. For example, “On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me, a partridge in a pear tree. On the second day of Christmas my true love sent to me, two turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree.” Find 2 turtle doves, and 1 partridge in a pear tree.
- Challenge your kids to find the extra objects for each puzzle (items are listed beneath the images below).
Variations:
- Print the picture puzzles and place them on the table for your kids or grandchildren to solve during breakfast. A great way to start the day and get those brains working!
- Print the puzzles and bring them along in the vehicle while running errands. A nice way to keep kids entertained.

EXTRA OBJECTS TO FIND: Peter Piper and his peck of pickled peppers; George and his Cherry tree; a lemon that is not a fruit; pretty powerful mistletoe; two squirrels who are nuts; a family tree; a pumpkinhead; Eve and the apple; a shoe tree.
Christmas Day 3 and 4
EXTRA OBJECTS TO FIND: A bird in the hard is worth two in the bush; jail birds; two cans; a proud peacock; a bird bath; lovebirds; an even balder eagle; blackbirds baked in a pie; a rubber chicken.
Christmas Day 5
