3 Things I Spotted This Week – #11

Since my job is an online store and mentoring ecommerce business owners, I spend a LOT of time online each day. While most of that time is spent working, I do occasionally stumble across websites, articles, and cool things that I really like. I save these things to a Pinterest board, so someday when I have some free time, I can go back to that board and enjoy the things I found.

Here are three random things (in no particular order) that I am really loving this week. Maybe you’ll find them interesting, too!

#1 – Kokedama Kit

Every Spring, I look for interesting and unusual plants for our front courtyard patio. This past Spring, my fun plants were potted in Kokedama balls and hung in one of our entryways. I love the very natural look of the Kokedama balls and I think it just makes whatever is planted in them look better. I was considering making several of these for holiday gifts this year. I know how to make them from scratch, but stumbled on a kit this past week that might make the process even easier. I like the look of small ferns and leafy plants in the Kokedama balls – how about you? What plant would you plant in one of these?

#2 – Glass Drinking Straws

I’ve mentioned here in this article series about our metal drinking straws and how much we love them. Well, look at what I found now! Glass drinking straws! I love that they look so elegant. With the holidays approaching, I’m thinking we’ll be serving our family favorite Slush in clear highball glasses along with these glass straws – a perfect combination! Yum!

#3 – Vintage Sour Cream Glasses

Well, I have to admit. I didn’t spot this particular set of vintage sour cream glasses this past week – I spotted them a couple of months ago. BUT, I have been on a weekly quest to find glasses like the ones below. They were popular in the 1950s through 1970s. Companies, such as Penn Maid and Breakstone, packaged their sour cream in these glasses (clever, huh?). I love how bright and colorful the glasses are and I think they would make perfect beverage glasses during the Winter months! And, they’d be fun party glasses in the Summer, too. This past week, I did spot a couple of these glasses, but I am keeping my fingers crossed to find more than one glass at a time….
