3 Things I Spotted This Week – #29

Lemons, limes, and oranges, long-lasting pool floaties, and unique patio storage… Check out this week’s fun finds!

#1 – Citrus Trees

Living in Minnesota, with our short outdoor growing season, finding citrus trees isn’t always easy. And when you do find citrus trees locally, they usually cost an arm and a leg!

I’ve been longing to replace the Lemon tree my Mom gave me (sorry Mom, the tree didn’t make it over winter). I also need to replace the Lime tree that someone forgot to bring inside over winter (drats!). And, I’d also like to add an Orange tree to round off the citrus choices. I have to tell you – when Lemon and Lime trees are blossoming, the smell is simply intoxicating! The scent is fairly strong and makes your space so inviting. I also love the look of the little white flowers. Citrus trees really do add a lot of interest to an outdoor patio or indoor space.

Because I haven’t found (affordable) replacements locally, I started searching online for citrus trees. I was excited to have discovered several sources! I think the trees are going to look fabulous on our south-facing back patio, and I can’t wait to start eating the fruit they bare. Yum!

#2 – Pool Float

I finally spotted a replacement for my old purple pool float – check it out!

Back in 1986, I bought a purple foam pool float at a store called Comb (if you’re from Minnesota, do you remember that discount store?) That purple float has been used every single year since I bought it, and it still floats! Unfortunately, the purple coating on the mat is starting to chip off. I’ve been looking for a replacement for that purple mat for the past three years. Every time I find a foam mat, it’s either too small, too thin, poor quality, or too expensive. Until I found this float. I’m so excited to get in the pool with a cold beverage, a good book, and this float! What a way to relax, eh?!

#3 – Patio Storage

I’ve been trying to figure out the best solution for storing patio pillows and throw blankets when they aren’t in use. Check out this storage box I spotted online this week. It seems like it would serve the purpose and would be easy to use. I also like the narrow size – thinking it would tuck in nicely against a wall, taking very little space on the patio. What do you think?

You can find links to all three things on Pinterest at Things I Like and you can find some of these things in my Amazon Marketplace Storefront.

NOTE: Since my job is an online store and mentoring ecommerce business owners, I spend a LOT of time online each day. While most of that time is spent working, I do occasionally stumble across websites, articles, and cool things that I really like. I save these things to a Pinterest board, so someday when I have some free time, I can go back to that board and enjoy the things I found.
