3 Things I Spotted This Week – #2

Since my job is an online store and mentoring ecommerce business owners, I spend a LOT of time online each day. While most of that time is spent working, I do occasionally stumble across websites, articles, and cool things that I really like. I save these things to a Pinterest board, so someday when I have some free time, I can go back to that board and enjoy the things I found.

Here are three random things (in no particular order) that I am really loving this week. Maybe you’ll find them interesting, too!

#1 – Firepit Swing

Doesn’t this look relaxing!? We have a large firepit area that is circular with block walls all around it. I think this swing would fit perfectly inside that space. I like that it’s open so you can still view the stars at night. I also like that it has five swings – one for each of us. I’d add some awesome outdoor pillows and a few end tables between the swings. I could see lounging on a swing with a good book during the day, and laying on the swings at night watching the stars. Very cool!

#2 – Mirrors in the Landscaping

I’m sure you’ve seen the mirrored gazing balls on a stand or pedestal in landscapes or gardens before. But what about a LARGE mirrored ball sitting on the ground in your landscape? I just love this idea.

I wrote an article – “Make Your Own Mirrored Spheres for Home or Garden” – on how to make these kinds of mirrored balls. Now if I could figure out some large 4-foot sphere, I’d paint it with mirror paint and plop the ball right in the middle of our backyard. I’d love to see the reflection of the clouds and stars on the mirrored ball, and think it would be an interesting focal point in the yard.

#3 – Landscape Loungers

Oh my goodness! Don’t these look comfortable? Maybe they caught my eye because they are my two most favorite colors – black and white – set against my favorite accent color – bright green. Or maybe they caught my eye because the have a unique shape. This week, I was online trying to find a comfortable lounge chair for our patio – one that you could lay back on and read a good book. While I don’t think these chairs would look good on our patios, I could definitely see them in our yard out near the pond. I think I would hang small LED lights from the top so they dangled down and gave a little light at night. It’s sure a good thing I don’t have these – if I did, I might never get anything done!
