#1 – Blooming Lollipops

How clever is this?!?! Lollipops made with flower petals AND sticks that are filled with flower seeds that can be planted after you’ve enjoyed your candy. I think this is very cool!

These sweet lollipops would make an awesome gift for a special friend, or anyone who loves planting flower gardens. Include a handwritten gift card that says “You’re Sweet!”, or “You Grow On Me”. You get the idea.

#2 – Handwoven Rug

When this rug appeared in an email marketing newsletter I received this week, it immediately caught my eye. My two favorite colors. But, the first thing I thought when I saw this was NOT that it’s a rug – rather that it would make an awesome bench seat cover!

I have a brother who loves to build things. This rug is 2′ x 3′. I’m thinking he could build a 3-foot long bench around 18″ wide, and I could add a piece of foam and then cover with this handwoven rug. I would just staple the rug over the foam cushion, and voilà – a way cool bench! The bench could be used in a mud room or entryway to allow your family or guests a place to sit while they put their shoes on. You could also use the bench at the foot of your bed.

This rug is handwoven and very durable – making it a perfect piece of ‘fabric’ for a bench. What do you think of this idea?

Oh, by the way, this rug is on sale this week – it’s just $17.99 at Target.

#3 – Mid Century Planter

I’ve been finding some really cool indoor plants (to get me through Winter), and I need pots to put them in. I love the mid-century look, so when I spotted this planter I knew it would be perfect for one of my new plants.

This is a handmade ceramic pot with beautiful rose gold legs. The pot is available with either a dark navy blue bottom or a light grey/off white bottom (as shown) – I love the light colored planter.

I think three of these pots would look awesome on a kitchen windowsill, growing herbs, or even on a bathroom windowsill filled with succulents. But wait…. there’s more! In addition to being an awesome looking planter, I think this would make a beautiful vase for fresh cut flowers as well. And… I could also see this being used at a party to hold utensils, such as forks and spoons. I think this planter has a lot of clever uses.

While most of that time is spent working, I do occasionally stumble across websites, articles, and cool things that I really like. I save these things to a Pinterest board, so someday when I have some free time, I can go back to that board and enjoy the things I found. I enjoy sharing these fun finds with you, and hope you find them interesting, too!
