Since my job is an online store and mentoring ecommerce business owners, I spend a LOT of time online each day. While most of that time is spent working, I do occasionally stumble across websites, articles, and cool things that I really like. I save these things to a Pinterest board, so someday when I have some free time, I can go back to that board and enjoy the things I found.
Here are three random things (in no particular order) that I am really loving this week. Maybe you’ll find them interesting, too!
#1 – Curio Boxes
My sons and I made the trip to the cities to shop at IKEA this week. I hadn’t been there since they were little kids. It was fun to go back and have them with me.
The reason for our trip was to purchase three of these black metal curio boxes. We’re giving our Music Room a makeover and I wanted something to hang on one of the walls that could house some of our interesting vintage curiosities. These boxes are perfect!
I love that they’re black and made of metal. The clear panels on the front, top, and sides make this curio box interesting to look at from all angles. I’ll have to share photos of our Music Room when we have it finished – then you’ll be able to see what we found to display in these boxes.
#2 – Sheepskin Rug
Speaking of our Music Room – I wanted to add a bit of texture to this room, especially since the colors in there are all black and white. I found this sheepskin rug and draped it over our piano bench. I absolutely love the look! Not only does it add texture and interest to the room, it also adds an element of warmth.
#3 – Loud Music
I have been searching for a vintage “Caution: Ear Protection Required” sign to hang in the Music Room. I thought it would add an element of whimsy to the room. While I was able to find a lot of these vintage factory signs, none of them were really the style or colors I was looking for. And then I found this sign.
We’re making recessed niches in one of the walls in the Music Room – cutting into the sheetrock between the studs to make a grid of nine square niches. When we’re done, this sign is going to be displayed in one of the niches. Can’t wait!
